Influenced by various flavors of hip hop, jazz, classical, urban and tribal, “fat MIND” is as much a tribute as it is an independent album. Its distinct sound is a product of the composer's mind, yet time and place served as an equally important vehicle during production. “fat MIND” was recorded and developed over a two year period within a partially renovated factory building where artists once passionately thrived and created. The two primary contributors, Veda and Elote, established the groundwork by way of late night ciphers over sample loops and beat box rhythms. The studio served as a social hub for artists and musicians and was quick to accept collaborative efforts and cradle the musical expressions therein. “fat MIND” is a unique fusion of styles; paying homage to old-school sampling techniques, natural improvisation, live instrumentation, software editing, rhythmic poetry and a penchant to simply make new music.
